A generous strand of natural seeds, aged woods, and luminous handmade details.
This newly designed long-strand Bodhi bracelet brings together large, full-bodied Moonlight Bodhi seeds with an eclectic selection of natural and handcrafted materials, including an Angel’s Eye Fengliu Fruit, drawn-glass beads, Agarwood beads, Chinese lacquer beads, and Monkey Head accents.
The highlight of the piece is the row of large Moonlight Bodhi seeds. Traditionally described as hard, grey-white tropical seeds marked with a small light-brown point resembling the moon, Moonlight Bodhi has long been associated in Buddhist bead culture with auspiciousness, peace, and a calm, gentle quality. Some traditional sources also connect Moonlight Bodhi with the Buddhist concept of yuan — affinity or karmic connection.
These particular seeds are large, plump, and exceptionally well-preserved, with no visible cracks, and are noted for their rich natural bean-like fragrance. Their substantial proportions give the long strand a bold, collector-style presence rather than the delicate feeling of a conventional bracelet.
The Angel’s Eye Fengliu Fruit adds an unusual natural form and a distinctive central accent. Fengliu Fruit is a naturally occurring fruit/seed material rather than a gemstone, and its unusual shape has made it popular in traditional natural-material collections.
Agarwood adds another layer of traditional fragrance culture. Aromatic woods have been closely connected with Buddhist ritual and meditation traditions across Asia; historical records from Japan, for example, document the introduction of incense together with Buddhism and its later development into refined incense appreciation.
Finished with drawn-glass beads, lacquer beads, and Monkey Head accents, the bracelet has a deliberately layered, old-world character — part traditional bead strand, part natural-material collection, and part contemporary handmade design.

Meaning
-
Wisdom & Awakening:
The word Bodhi comes from Sanskrit bodhi, referring to awakening or enlightenment. Bodhi seeds therefore carry a long-standing association with Buddhist practice, wisdom, and spiritual contemplation.
-
Peace & Auspiciousness:
Traditional descriptions of Moonlight Bodhi associate the moon with gentleness, auspiciousness, and peace. Its pale, moon-like appearance is part of the reason for its name and cultural symbolism.
-
Affinity & Connection:
In traditional Buddhist bead culture, Moonlight Bodhi is associated with yuan — the idea of affinity or meaningful connection.
-
Stillness & Contemplation:
Agarwood has a long history within Buddhist incense culture and meditation-related traditions. Its presence here adds a quiet, contemplative dimension to the natural-material composition.
-
Respect for Traditional Craft:
The combination of Bodhi seeds, agarwood, lacquer, glass, and natural fruit materials brings together several traditions of bead making, incense culture, and decorative craftsmanship. Lacquer itself has a deep history in Chinese material culture and traditional arts.
